Daytime yes 😊 at night, no.
Yes! Great Vietnamese coffee!
Unfortunately, not much. A rice noodle dish is prob only main offered. Lots of flour battered items, while wheat sandwiches and reg pasta noodles so...no! Great place and good prices though!
Yes
I think so
Excellent food and menu has a variety of options. The staff there is also friendly! The wait for food was not long. :)
I'm there all the time. Good cheap food, a warm, eclectic vibe and great service. This is my standard: wonton soup, salad rolls with shrimp and peppermint tea 😊
Way under-appreciated for their amazing food at excellent prices. The environment is a bit loud, however (music usually).
Quick service, great prices and good food! Both drinks and food are vert well priced for a chill atmosphere in a fun location.
Love this place! Amazing food, good prices and great staff!
Great food and fair prices. Would def recomm!
Food is always a good price and the staff is attentive. The feel is a bit relaxed but sometimes you need a quick lunch and this is the place for you. Heads up no refills for coffee or pop.
Cheap drink options with a cozy atmosphere. It has lots of seating space and has different specials every day. Definitely a good place to hang out with a big group of people.
Food is good and inexpensive but slow service.
Very chill and comfy place to have a bite to eat and do some work. The restaurant is large and has really comfy booths. The food is great and the prices are perfect for students. I sat in here and had breakfast while studying for an exam. It's a great place that's sort of off campus to relax. Lattes are really good too.
Great service and reasonable prices with good-sized portions.
It's a decent place. It has a good vibe. I went with a couple of my colleagues and everyone ordered different stuff and everyone was happy with their order including me. It was tasty and the quantity was also good. The service is a little slow. But the prices are reasonable. A good place to hang out without spending too much.
Do. Not. Order. Draught.I imagine they don't clear their lines, cuz the draft beer tastes like feet. Prices are rock bottom though and they do have bottles and cans. Dive bar with dive options at dive prices. Enjoy.
Red Room is a fine place to hang with friends. Lots of room, cheap beer and decent food for the price. *WARNING* if you come here with a larger party they will charge 18% gratuity. My partner and I were the first to leave from our group of eight. The waitress, despite having a credit card machine in hand, directed us to pay at the till. The cashier entered our order manually and we paid, including a tip. Afterwards, we wondered why the price was so high I and went back to ask for an itemized receipt. We were charged the 18% gratuity, but not told so tipped twice. After showing me the receipt, the cashier apologized and handed me back $10 cash to make up for it. I enjoyed Red Room, but my experience was soured I felt they were trying to hide the gratuity. Otherwise, have fun!
Amazing hidden gem in the area! More places like this have to exist😭
Large room with 3 main sections. Eclectic decor. Good service, cheap food, reasonably priced alcoholic drinks.
Great laid back spot for cheap drinks and friendly service. Always treated like family here. Food is also great!
One of my favorite places to eat. I love their Pad Thai and a few other dishes! Best price for your money in my opinion. Would definitely recommend!
Look people, these guys have cheap beer and some decent Asian food. This ain't a French restaurant or nothing, but if you want to chat with a buddy about how you might wanna try cocaine in your 60s, this is the place.
I happened to be here with my two of my Japanese friends. One of them said , this place is good without having been there . We went in anyway . Just wanted to say it’s a nice quite place in busy street . I liked beer and their fries 👌🏼.
Very tasty food with a broad menu. The inside looks a bit out dated and like a old pub hence the 4 stars. Prices are reasonable for a meal out, plates and cutlery are very nice. Prices don't include the city tax however so watch out. Portion sizes are more than sufficient.
Very nice place, good dishes and fair price.
Affordable prices as well as good quality of foods and drinks
Cheap food, giant portions, comes out quick. I enjoyed my food but the rose sauce was a bit too tomatoey. Servers are great at refilling water, and mayo! They did make the other side of my table wait a while to order. But after that everything was fine.Highlights: Such good sweet potato fries! 5/5For a non thai place, my friend would give her pad thai a 2.75/5
Could’ve had the fans turned up a little more as it was a very hot day and the beer could’ve been much colder; it was lukewarm from the tap. But nonetheless the service was quick and the Chicken Pad Thai was delicious especially after a few cheap brews.
Cheap eats! Quality is pretty decent, but I found the portion quite small. But for the price, you can definitely get two dishes and not break the bank. Drinks are also super cheap. Good place to bring some friends and have a good time.
Classic student bar with passable complete meals for under ten bucks. I'm a fan of the soup and sandwich combo. The service is pleasantly casual. The drinks crowd at night makes it one of the louder spots around.
Favourite grungy haunt with cheap drinks and cheap eats where I have fallen up the stairs many, many times. Real slice of old Toronto still hanging on in the area. Check it out for drink specials, big TVs for watching the game, and hole in the wall atmosphere.
Food was meh. The chow Mein was too salty and crunchy. Sweet potato fries were soggy and the place was kind of dirty. Server was nice so four stars.
Wide variety of food and drinks at respectable prices. Very spacious. Friendly staff and atmosphere. I'll be back!
What a great place to eat drink and dance Hope that everything goes well for the owner What a great guy .Wayne
Service was friendly and prices are reasonable. All the food I've had here feels like it's missing a little something, but is decent bang for your buck. Last time I was there, someone came in off the street and was walking around and asking customers for money and the staff didn't ask him to leave - made for a bit of a uncomfortable experience
A fun place to go out with friends, the staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Red Room has been a staple on Spadina for years and it shows in it's food. The Pad Thai is fantastic here and served in a large portion.
This used to be my favourite spot for a good, cheap meal. However, as the prices go up the quality has gone down. Also, the same dish can be very different the next time you order it, no consistency. Definitely worth a try though if you're looking for a reasonably priced meal.
Spoke with Kenny on November 4, 2019 about the set of keys I'm pretty sure came out of my pocket about a month ago and he took his time and patiently searched for it. He took my number and even promised to look under the seat where I was at. About half an hour later he called to let me know that he found the set of keys. 😂Thanks for the great effort Kenny! I'll certainly be back and will keep on coming back.
Nice place 😍
I went with six of my friends and let me tell you, it was such a great experience! The server was very nice and the atmosphere was great. The thing that caught me the most was how cheap the drinks were! We got 4 pitchers and we ended up splitting the bill and it came up to ~$15 plus nachos. Will definitely come back again and greatly recommended for broke uni students lol 😃
Quiet and comfortable! Staff very friendly and kitchen has great cooks!
Cheap and tasty Asian fusion fare, but the downside is hygiene is not always top notch. On several occasions there's been grimy glasses given to us to drink from and once a hair in the food. Bathrooms are quite dirty as well most times. But you get what you pay for I guess.
Cheap & tasty food, decent drink menu. Not too loud or dark. Wasn't given option to tip on card device. Mix of Asian and traditional fare.
Good good at a reasonable price in an informal setting.
Food is delicious and very affordable. Old amd and rustic interior. Very cosy.
Cheapest wine in the area! 12 dollars for a half liter pichet of pretty decent house red. Great for predrinking before going to Kensington Market, which is just around the corner. Red Room has a great patio and the guys who run it have a good energy.
A good place to hang out with friends that has a relaxed atmosphere and cheap drinks
Good service and great prices.
Great prices, tasty food, especially the sweet potato fries. All day breakfast omelette is also great. Free, fast wifi. Servers are sometimes rude, restaurant furnishings are outdated.
Worth every loonie!! I had the vegetable spring rolls and they where perfectly done crispy, golden, and not oily. It was a great appetizer portion. For an entree I had their fried rice with tofu and that too was great!! It had some crispy bits which is always appreciated. Over all I’d say this experience was a 4.5 only because the lighting is pretty dim, food and drinks however are amazing!!Staff are helpful and friendly. Great place to visit in 2020 haha lots of space too
Decent price but poor service. Party of 7 took more than 45 minutes to get the orders out. Mixed up some of our drinks and they had to redo some of the food. Our chicken stir fry with added tofu did not have chicken in it. I won't be coming back for lunch.
Its my favorite place to eat downtown .. prices are cheaper than any other restaurant and the portions are big!!! I always recommend it to my friends .. they all love it! One thing they need is more TV s so i can go watch the games there!!
My first time at the red room was the first day of stage 3 where we could dine inside. I'm glad we chose this place- the food and beer was so reasonably priced and incredible. We had wonton soup which was the star of the show, tasted like a fragrant flavour rich pho broth with delicate pork filled wontons that melted in your mouth honestly the best I ever had and I've had a lot of wonton soup throughout the city. Next was the spicy thai chicken salad which was massive and shareable very fresh no wilted leaves or dried out vegetables. I suggest asking for some fish sauce to give it an extra umami note. The fried wontons were also generously portioned and fresh full of savoury fillings.10/10 under $50 dollar date night with two rounds of drinks and 3 plates of food can't go wrong. An absolute gemThis isn't a fancy place just a casual relaxed atmosphere don't expect to be fanned with reeds and pampered this is China Town/ Kensington market enjoy it for what it is!
